#Third-Party Notices and Licenses

#1. Introduction

SKWADE integrates a curated set of external services, APIs and open datasets to deliver its diving, marine-life and passport features. This document lists every third-party provider that is actually integrated in the current version of SKWADE, together with the purpose of the integration, the applicable license or Terms, and the required trademark and copyright acknowledgements.

Providers that appear only as future roadmap items — and that are not integrated in the shipped code — are not listed here.

Trademarks and registered trademarks referenced below remain the exclusive property of their respective owners. Their mention in this document is limited to factual identification of the underlying service, and does not imply any endorsement, affiliation, sponsorship or partnership beyond what is documented in each provider's own Terms.

#2. Infrastructure and platform

#2.1 Lovable Cloud

• Purpose in SKWADE: application hosting, backend runtime (Edge

Workers), authentication brokering, secret management and file storage. Lovable Cloud is the platform on which SKWADE is built, deployed and operated.

• Underlying technology: the Lovable Cloud backend is powered by

Supabase (see 2.2). SKWADE integrates Lovable Cloud through the @lovable.dev/cloud-auth-js client library and the standard Lovable Cloud runtime.

• Trademarks: "Lovable" and "Lovable Cloud" are trademarks of

Lovable AB and are used solely to identify the platform.

#2.2 Supabase

• Purpose in SKWADE: PostgreSQL database, row-level security,

authentication providers, storage buckets and realtime channels, provisioned through Lovable Cloud.

• Integration: @supabase/supabase-js client on Web / Mobile,

server-side clients inside TanStack Start server functions and post-processing workers.

#2.3 Lovable AI Gateway

• Purpose in SKWADE: unified access to large-language and

multimodal models used by internal features (e.g. automatic localization of runtime strings). Traffic is proxied through the Lovable AI Gateway; SKWADE does not distribute vendor API keys.

• Underlying models currently invoked: Google Gemini 2.5 Flash,

Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite, Gemini 2.5 Pro and Gemini 3 Flash (preview).

• Trademarks: "Gemini" is a trademark of Google LLC. Model access

is governed by the Lovable AI Gateway Terms and the underlying model provider's usage policies.

#3. Mobile platforms

#3.1 Apple

• Purpose in SKWADE:
• iOS packaging via Capacitor;
• Apple Wallet integration (SKWADE Passport is distributed as an

Apple Wallet pass via passkit-generator and the Apple Wallet Web Service protocol implemented under src/routes/api/public/wallet/);

• In-App Purchase / subscription verification for Premium

#3.2 Google

• Purpose in SKWADE:
• Android packaging via Capacitor;
• Google Wallet pass generation and "Add to Google Wallet" flow

• Google Play Billing verification for Premium

(src/lib/billing/providers/google.server.ts);

• Google as an optional OAuth identity provider through Lovable /

Supabase Auth.

#4. Dive computer ecosystem

#4.1 libdivecomputer

• Purpose in SKWADE: cross-manufacturer decoding of dive-computer

bytestreams (Shearwater, Suunto, Oceanic, Atomics, HW OSTC, Reefnet, DiveSystem, etc.). Compiled to WebAssembly from the vendored upstream source.

• License: LGPL-2.1-or-later. Full source, corresponding notice

and relink instructions live in vendor/libdivecomputer/, docs/licenses/libdivecomputer-COPYING, NOTICE.md and docs/native/libdivecomputer.md.

#4.2 Garmin

• Purpose in SKWADE: synchronization of dive activities and FIT

profiles from a diver's Garmin Connect account, via the garmin-connect open-source client under Sync Engine v1.0. Only the diver's own Garmin account credentials are used, stored encrypted at rest in the Lovable Cloud vault.

#4.3 Shearwater, Suunto, Oceanic and other dive-computer

manufacturers

• Purpose in SKWADE: SKWADE decodes bytestreams and, where

applicable, communicates with dive computers manufactured by these vendors, via libdivecomputer (see 4.1) and — in future roadmap releases — via BLE transports.

• Trademarks: "Shearwater", "Petrel", "Perdix", "Teric", "Nerd",

"Suunto", "Oceanic", "Atomic Aquatics", "HW", "OSTC", "DiveSystem" and any related product names are trademarks of their respective owners. SKWADE is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by any of these manufacturers.

#5. Marine biodiversity and knowledge

#5.1 Wikimedia Commons

• Purpose in SKWADE: editorial media (photos of species, corals,

dive sites) imported by the Ocean Media Engine (src/lib/ocean-media/providers/wikimedia-media.server.ts). Only files distributed under CC0, CC-BY, CC-BY-SA or public-domain terms are accepted; the original license, credit line and source URL are preserved on every asset.

• Purpose in SKWADE: editorial summaries and lead images for

species and coral pages via src/lib/ocean-media/providers/wikipedia-media.server.ts, under the same license constraints as Wikimedia Commons (see 5.1).

#5.3 GBIF — Global Biodiversity Information Facility

• Purpose in SKWADE: taxonomic backbone, occurrence data and

species-level media, via the Ocean Import Engine (src/lib/ocean-import/providers/gbif/) and the Ocean Media Engine (src/lib/ocean-media/providers/gbif-media.server.ts).

• Attribution: GBIF-derived content is attributed to "GBIF

contributors" and links back to the corresponding GBIF species page.

#5.4 WoRMS — World Register of Marine Species

• Purpose in SKWADE: authoritative marine-taxonomy source for

species names, ranks and synonymy, via src/lib/ocean-import/providers/worms/.

• Citation: WoRMS content is cited per the WoRMS citation policy.

#5.5 Wikidata

• Purpose in SKWADE: cross-referencing of taxonomic identifiers

and multilingual common names, via src/lib/ocean-import/providers/wikidata/.

• License: structured data available under CC0 1.0.
• Terms: <https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Licensing>

#5.6 IUCN Red List

• Purpose in SKWADE: conservation-status labels (LC, NT, VU, EN,

CR, EW, EX, DD) attached to species pages, via src/lib/ocean-import/providers/iucn/.

• Trademarks: "IUCN" and "IUCN Red List" are trademarks of the

International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources.

#6. Mapping

#6.1 OpenStreetMap contributors

• Purpose in SKWADE: default map tiles rendered by

Leaflet / react-leaflet across the Map, Dive Sites and Passport views.

• License: map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, released under

the Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0.

• Attribution: the standard "© OpenStreetMap contributors"

attribution is displayed on every map view.
